  1. How do I access my account on your server?

    Here is a listing of all possible account access URLs, settings and instructions needed to use your account. It is similar to the account activation e-mail that you received when your account was created.


    General Account Information:
    Server IP Address: 71.19.244.97 (shared)


    Name Servers:
    NS1.VANISLEBC.COM
    NS2.VANISLEBC.COM


    Some of the following servers require the username and password that was setup for you when your account was created.


    Email Servers:



    • SMTP Server: mail.yourdomainname

    Please remember that it will take a short time for your Registrar to process the delegation request and for this new DNS to propagate around the internet. During that time, you will not be able to access this site as normal through a web browser. However, you can still access your site during this period by pointing your browser to (replace "username" with your actual account username):
    http://71.19.244.97/~username


    Please note that CGI and PHP will not function properly while viewing your site through this special IP address. It is just a temporary measure to assist you in preparing your site while your new DNS transfers around the net.You can upload your site by pointing your FTP software to your shared IP address (71.19.244.97). This means that you do not have to wait for your domain name to be transferred to our servers before you can upload your site. Once your domain has fully propagated around the net, you will be able to access your FTP account via your own domain name.


    Setting Up An Email Account:
    Before you can start sending or receiving email, you must set up at least one email account. To do this, please follow the instructions below:

    1.Log in to the control panel (http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel) using your control panel username and password.
    2.Click on the MAIL icon.
    3.Enter the mail name that you want to create (i.e. "bob", "editor", "webmaster" etc., not the full address).
    4.Click on the ADD button
    5.Check/Tick the "Mailbox" box
    6.Enter and confirm a password that you would like to use
    7.Scroll down to the bottom and click UPDATE

    Billing Information:
    For increased security reasons we do not process credit cards ourselves on our servers. Depending on your selection of payment method when ordering, a third party authorized retailer will be used: Charge will appear as "Sportsman Fishing Adventures Ltd". This is our parent company. Regardless of the method you selected, you will receive an order confirmation email detailing your order information. If your email address changes, please notify us of your new email address and also update your profile in the control panel via the EDIT button.

    After logging into the Hosting Control Panel, you may also click buttons to automatically log you into the stats, browser-ftp, email, email control, and MySQL control servers, without having to remember the URLs and without having to enter your username and password.

  2. How do I upload or modify my website files?

    To upload or modify your website files you two choices if you are not using a CMS (Content Management System) system:



    • FTP: Use your favourite FTP client and login to ftp.yourdomainname

    • WebFTP: In your web-browser, simply add /webftp to the end of your URL and login


    After the login, click the website directory and within it you will see a separate directory for each top-level website you have. For instance, you will see a /www directory which contains the files for www.YOURDOMAIN and if you also have http://support.YOURDOMAIN you will see a /support directory.
